On April 30, NICCI organized a closed-door roundtable in Oslo, that brought together senior representatives from leading Indian and Norwegian business and industry stakeholders. The event was part of the official program of the business delegation following the Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.

The 24-person Indian delegation, led by Rajiv Memani, President-Designate of CII and CEO of EY India, included executives from major companies such as Larsen & Toubro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Bharti Enterprises. The business networks FICCI and ASSOCHAM were also present.

The Norwegian side was represented by the following selected NICCI member companies: NHO, Yara International, Maritime Montering, Pixii, DNV, Emirates and Innovation Norway. 6 of our Board Members also represented NICCI; Amit Mital – Country Chair India DNV, Erlend Sannes Hadland – Senior Export Advisor, NHO, Helge Tryti – Chairman NICCI, Inge Kristian Brodersen – Partner, Advokatfirmaet Schjødt, Navreet Kaur – Chief Analyst, First House, Vineet Jain – CEO, Global View and NICCI´s CEO Trond Skundberg.
Thanks to our member law firm Schjødt for hosting the dialogue meeting.
The high-level delegation from India was introduced to business opportunities in Norway by Gard Madsen, CEO of Invest in Norway – the official investment promotion agency.
We also presented NICCI as a key player in business matchmaking between Norway and India, and Norwegian companies introduced themselves to the Indian delegation before the floor was opened for discussion.
Always business first!
The format allowed for direct discussions between companies with overlapping interests – whether in energy, shipping, technology, infrastructure, or talent. These are the kinds of connections NICCI exists to facilitate.
Since 2006, NICCI has connected members with knowledge, the right people, and business opportunities. This roundtable was another example of that mission in action. We look forward to following up with both Indian and Norwegian participants and turning these promising connections into concrete cooperation.
and 11 minutes of pleasure…

Directly following the meeting, we took an 11-minute sightseeing walk and talk towards the Innovation Norway office for the continued business program. Business cards exchanged and important connections made.

Traffic waited politely (no honking!) while we grabbed a quick group shot of part of the walk-and-talk group.
