It is a fact that there is a skill gap in Norway. Across industries that want to grow – and in the public sector that needs to deliver services. Not surprisingly, we in NICCI are convinced that India is the solution to Norway’s future talent challenge. (3 minutes read)

So, why India – why NICCI?
Complementary match: Norway needs more skilled professionals. India has the world’s largest pool of engineers, IT specialists, nurses and innovators.
Strategic intent: India has a clear national strategy for exporting talent, positioning itself as a global partner in growth.
Reliable bridge: With NICCI’s network and our members’ cultural understanding and experience, we can assure successful matching of requirements with highly skilled personnel.
Time to go beyond festive speeches and cheering on social media
On October 1, the TEPA agreement actually came into effect, celebrated with ministers and ambassadors in Delhi. Before that, the ratification was celebrated. And before that, the signing was celebrated. Each time, we all joined in posting “exciting times ahead” on social media.
The Indian Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, specifically mentioned the flow of talent from India to Norway as an important part of future collaboration. He especially mentioned nurses. Norway has a considerable need for them, and India is ready to provide.
Now it is time to walk through the doors that are opened. NICCI is most certainly planning to play an important role in that.
Our Mission: co-creating reliable talent pipelines between India and Norway
We have established a working group of member companies in NICCI – including law firms, universities, a language and culture training players, a major business associations, several recruitment and relocation companies, government organizations and industry players in both countries. According to me, a true super-team working together to set standards for the future of talent acquisition and mobility between India and Norway.
The NICCI network’s important role is to connect the dots and set the standard for reliable and seamless processes.Together with members and partners, we can quality-assure recruitment, verification, relocation and integration. To create success stories.
Academia?
Absolutely. NICCI is deeply connected with leading institutions in both India and Norway – building bridges through academia–academia partnerships and academia–industry collaboration at the intersection where real innovation happens..
We have even started a projects in skill development with an Indian state – bridging the gap by preparing candidates for Norway. You can expect updates on that in the near future. We welcome you to be part of it too.
Example: our member Nursing Norway is way ahead of the curve
Nursing Norway has developed a model that demonstrates a deep understanding of India and what it takes to bridge the gaps: from the selection process in India, to EU certification at a European university, to training nurses in Norwegian language and Norwegian conditions to relocation to Norway.
The first batch of 50+ nurses has just arrived in Norway – ready to be interviewed for permanent positions in any Norwegian municipality. “Løp og kjøp,” as we say in Norway.
Growth requires innovation. Innovation requires talent. Norway cannot wait. India is ready -and NICCI is building the pipelines that connect the two.
Get in touch with me to hear more about how you can engage as a NICCI member – or how your municipality, company cluster or company can get started on creating a reliable stream of talent for your future needs – with NICCI.
Again, lets co-create reliable talent pipelines between India and Norway.
