Key Takeaways from the Plenary
One message came through clearly throughout the plenary discussions: the Norway–India relationship is entering a new phase. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Norway, the elevation of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership, the implementation of TEPA, and the signing of numerous business agreements, there was a strong sense in the room that the conversation has moved beyond potential and into practical action. The focus is no longer whether opportunities exist, but how businesses, researchers and institutions can work together to capture them.
Another recurring theme was the importance of building long-term partnerships. Speakers repeatedly highlighted AI, digitalisation, energy, maritime industries, health, innovation and sustainability as areas where Norway and India bring complementary strengths to the table. What stood out was the shared view that success will come not from short-term transactions, but from companies willing to invest time, build trust and engage deeply with one another’s markets.
